Environment renders of my 3D animated horror short film, "Welcome". Entire scene was modeled and rendered in 3DS Max (when Mental Ray was a thing).
The hut drew reference from dilapidated, rural housing in the American countryside during the 1940s (also the period where the film takes place). Props and furniture had to reflect a much early date, like the 1900s grandfather clock and stove area.
Currently intending to re-render the scene in Unreal Engine 4, or with 3DS Max's updated Arnold renderer.
