Bloodvine Hunter

Splash art assignment. Inspiration came from a week long binge on Warframe and Lovecraftian horror (one of which was Magic the Gathering's "Eldritch Moon" set). I chose a sickly green to match the creature's fleshy-plant-based origins, with red highlights to draw attention to its dangerous bits.

Small backstory:
A vaguely humanoid creature with that looks like a mix of distorted flesh, bone and plant-like elements. The creature hunts humans in a post-apocalyptic world overgrown by nature, and spreads its fibrous tissue in a web-like fashion across structures. The tissue itself is still alive and acts as a massive sensory organ, like a real web. The creature remains immobile, usually blending into surrounding fauna until its web is triggered, where it's head and right arm "cracks" open to reveal its more predatory organs.
